The National Energy Administration of China has recently released data regarding the issuance and trading of national renewable energy green power certificates for October 2024.

In October 2024, a staggering 1.232 billion green certificates were issued. Specifically, wind power accounted for 530 million, which constituted 43.01% of the total. Solar power contributed 197 million, representing 16.02%. Conventional hydropower provided 392 million, making up 31.84%. Biomass power generated 109 million, equivalent to 8.83%, and other renewable energy sources totaled 3.78 million, accounting for 0.31%.

As of the end of October 2024, a cumulative sum of 3.551 billion green certificates had been issued across the nation. Wind power held 1.323 billion, or 37.25% of the cumulative total. Solar power had 681 million, which was 19.18%. Conventional hydropower reached 1.277 billion, accounting for 35.97%. Biomass power amounted to 264 million, or 7.44%, and other renewables stood at 5.67 million, with a share of 0.16%.

During October, a total of approximately 25.42 million green certificates were traded nationwide. Among them, about 9.8 million were associated with green electricity transactions. By the end of October, the cumulative trading volume had reached around 384 million certificates in total, with about 195 million being linked to green electricity transactions. This data reflects the dynamic development and trading activities within China's renewable energy green power certificate market and offers insights into the nation's progress in promoting renewable energy utilization and marketization.
