1. It is carried out in the drum. The barrel is a holding device that carries small parts subjected to plating in the process of constant tumbling. A typical barrel is hexagonal in shape and is placed horizontally. One side of the cylinder wall is open, and a certain number of small parts are loaded into the cylinder through the opening, which is then closed with a cylinder door.

The wall plate of the drum is covered with many small holes, through which the current conduction between the parts and the anode, the renewal of the solution inside and outside the drum and the discharge of the exhaust gas are required during plating. The cathodic conductive device inside the drum is pierced by copper wires or rods from the central shaft holes on both sides of the drum, and then fixed on the conductive feet on the left and right wall plates of the drum respectively. The parts are naturally connected to the cathode conductive device by their own gravity in the drum.

2.  barrel plating is small parts in the process of non-stop tumbling. When barrel plating, small parts in the drum is not stationary, but with the rotation of the drum constantly tumbling. This tumbling is specific to a particular part: one moment is buried inside the entire pile of parts, and the next moment is turned to the outer surface. This is repeated until the end of the entire barrel plating process.

3. The current required for small parts during barrel plating is transmitted in an indirect manner. When hanging plating, the current required for the part is transmitted directly by the hanging tool, and the part is in close contact with the hanging tool without any medium in between. Therefore, the current transfer in rack plating is smooth, the contact resistance is low, and the current obtained by each part does not differ basically due to the transfer problem.

However, when barrel plating, the parts are pressed onto the cathode conductive device inside the drum as a whole, and only a very small number of parts are directly connected to the cathode conductive device, while the vast majority can only be connected to the cathode through the stack of overlapping parts.

Therefore, the cathode conductive device inside the drum can only first deliver current to the parts in direct contact with themselves, and then these parts can be delivered to other parts, and in other parts and parts between the transmission of one by one, which is the indirect conductive method of barrel plating.

This indirect conductive way is undoubtedly another important feature of barrel plating. It is mainly due to the indirect conductivity between parts and parts, rather than parts directly in contact with the cathode conductivity, so the contact resistance of the parts when barrel plating than the corresponding increase in hanging plating.
